MINKA-AIREF524-ABD, Roto, 52" Ceiling Fan, Brushed Aluminum

I installed this in a small bedroom (14’x10’) with a flat white ceiling and am very happy with it. I have the white model and it blends in nicely against the ceiling, not intrusive or obvious at all. Virtually silent even at high speed. Installation was painless for a handy person, took about an hour. Cost a few bucks more than an Orange or Blue Store brand but the high quality offsets it, is a great value. I paired this with a simple Lutron 3-speed toggler fan control and it works beautifully.

They look fabulous and very cooling

I was looking for a fan that would really cool off my bedroom, as well as look sleek and not draw a lot of attention to it. Well this fan was perfect. I got it in white so it almost "blends" in to the ceiling and looks very light and airy. Best of all, it cools the room off very well. There are 4 settings, and we have used this fan some nights that we would otherwise have to have used the air conditioner. You can really feel it moving air. The fan is very quiet, but you sometimes hear the air moving (but not the fan motor). There is no remote, it comes with a wall switch.Great fan - looks good and keeps up cool!

I have a Roto XL that I installed a few years ago in my bedroom and I like that fan. It’s never had any issues and the design is great, so when I finished my basement I grabbed a few Roto fans for the rooms down there. BIG MISTAKEThe Roto and the Roto XL, while only 10” different in diameter, are totally different fans. The motor housing is different. The screws are different.Do NOT buy the Roto, get the XL. I needed two Roto fans, so I ordered two and installed both. Immediately, they both had groaning motor noise that would come and go. Thinking they needed to break in or something, I let them run for a week or so and the noise persisted and in fact, it developed new clicking noises too. I contact Minka Aire support and they think the capacitor is bad. I returned those fans and got a replacement from Amazon and only installed one of the two and I’m glad I did since the new fan had the exact same issue.AVOID THESE FANS!!! If you like the design, get the Roto XL—it’s the same design with slightly larger blades (62”) that are hardly noticeably larger, and it only has a slight groaning noise when on high and it mostly goes away when the fan gets to speed at which point you just hear the wind since it puts out some air!

This is a very simple and elegant fan (in silver), that is virtually inaudible and lower speeds, and at higher speeds it is more the sound of the air than the internal motor you would hear. I had no need for lights, and only needed the fan, so this model was perfect.In addition to the fan, I purchased:- 24" down-rod (nearly perfect color match)- Sloped ceiling kit for slopes to 45 degrees.The fan's instructions state that it can be mounted up to a 22 degree slope. As my ceiling is 35 degrees, I ordered the additional kit to be safe.Install was performed by an electrician and it took 2.5 hours from unpack until clean up and leave.So why not 5 stars? Because:- the circular trim in the center of the fan has minor indentations around the edge and and in some other spots. I noticed this after the electrician was gone, and I saw him work, so I know it was not damaged during the install. I was not about the call him back and go through the trouble of repackaging and sending the unit back, reschedule another instal, etc. You can almost make out the darker spot in the picture with finger pointing at the approximate spot of the dimples.- The remote has its highest speed at 1, and lowest at 4. I find that counterintuitive. We thought perhaps this was caused by the polarity of the wiring, and we reversed them, but still, 1 was fast, and 4 slow.- Air movement is best just under the fan, with a fairly narrow sweet spot.Overall, I am happy with the purchase so far, and will revise the rating if my experience changes.

Good-looking, uncluttered fan that generates a nice breeze

Very modern design at reasonable price. Quiet operation but moves enough air. Wall switch with 4 speed control is included and it works very well. Just a tiny vibration on one of the two fans I purchased this time. Many people would leave it but I bought a balancing kit at $0.99 at Menards and fixed it within 5 min. Now we almost forget it's rotating. I plan to buy one more.

Most modern, clean, simple fan. minka aire roto comes in black, white and brushed chrome. It's very easy to install and very tight to the ceiling (9 inches from ceiking to lowest point, base), even though it's not a flush mount. Hunter offers a low profile mount no light that's 11 inch, 9 from minka is even better! Photos are from a 8 foot master bedroom over bed. Ideal for bedrooms, or alternatively purchase the extended downrod for taller and vaulted ceilings. There's a not included light kit as well, so the expandability is awesome!We have been browsing the Internet for over 2 years before we found this incredible option. In the world of ceiling fans there's no shortage dated and unattractive options. Between minka aire and Hiaku you're all set. We paired ours with a ge zwave wall switch for added smart functionalities. We bought 4 of these for every upstairs room. Amazing super simple and sleek.

Very nice modern looking fan. I ordered two for our covered porch. Each came with a wall speed control switch, that was a nice touch. A great fan for a very decent price!

Very happy with the fan , circulates the air really well.

looks awesome, moves a really good amount of air but after a year it makes a little squeak once in a while, wouldn't be a big deal but being in the bedroom it can be a little annoying at night.
