Still another book by a twenty-something sage
The author takes a few gratuitous swipes at Trump, in the same vein as his fellow boy-philosopher, Holiday, exalts Alinsky and Obama. If you believe that this kind of sophomoric stuff belongs in a book on stoic philosophy, then this is right up your alley.

more like the Book of Little Intelligence
Based on all the good reviews, I had high hopes for this book. Until I started reading it and discovered it was written by a college student. It reads like a term paper with an air of arrogance. I remember my 20s and how much I had yet to learn; how can I take advice from a kid? I could not digest this tripe and it just was too asinine to finish. There is no wisdom in this book. It is very patronizing like the author is talking to a child. I just couldn't relate. Very disappointed. Very boring and convoluted. The author takes forever to say nothing and his examples and analogies make no sense. I was looking for direction and only found confusion.

He vomited up what had not yet been digested.
This young man would do well to spend more time studying. Often times I feel he misses the target. Better to just read Aurelius and Epictetus, and if you need that explained get Ryan Holiday's book. It needed to be said.

A great introduction to Stoicism and a manual for practical application in our modern times.
Whether you are just starting out on your Stoic journey, or looking for some fresh ideas and perspective on the 2,000-year-old philosophy, this book will get you everywhere you need to go. Inspired by the words of ancient and modern thinkers alike, The Little Book of Stoicism acts as a primer to Stoic philosophy by beginning with a brief but thorough history of Stoicism, how it came to be, what it's all about, and it's major players. After that, the book jumps into 55 practices, meditations and ideals for practically applying Stoicism to your daily life. For me, after reading and learning so much about the philosophy over the past 3 years, it was a really nice refresher. But also, I found myself busy highlighting new ideas and taking notes perspectives and points of view that I hadn't thought about before. Jonas broke down rather complex ideas into an easy-to-read format full of modern examples and applications. This book is a perfect addition to the library of layman and expert alike. In the world that we live in today, if everyone was just a little bit more Stoic, from the man or woman who lives down the street to those that run our highest government offices, the world would become an exponentially better place to live. And it would become better quite quickly. As such, this book is a worthy read and I'm very happy to see Stoicism proliferate throughout our modern literature. Whatever your beliefs, Stoicism is what we need a little bit more in this world. Not only for others, but for ourselves, and there is no better place to start than The Little Book of Stoicism. Well done!

Good info, a little repetition
While I am enjoying the information in the book. I am finding that the author makes a point in a paragraph and then in the next is immediately restating that point. At first I thought it might be he just wanted to emphasize the thought, but I don't think so.That is not to say I am not getting benefit from the explanations of Stoicism. I am. It is just the feeling of 'deja vu' really throws the flow of the reading, I think I must have lost my place and am re-reading the same section.Sort of like that

What a great little book this is!!!
There was so much info packed into this quick read. Theory, practice & guidance. Perfect for a noob Stoic like myself. The best section for me was the 'hands-on' section, titled "Preparing Practices". This is where you learn the steps, ideas and practices used to achieve to your transformation. These are basically short exercises or lines of thought that will help to begin to lead you along your way.The price is steal. I can't wait for the physical release so I can add this to my library for continued reading and reference.

Your Guide to Thrive in an Emotionally Rampant Society
There is a wide range of Stoicism books out there. Most are boring and are either weighted too heavily on philosophical history or simply not entertaining to read. Jonas and Nils present a work that is, dare I say it..., fun to read. Hell, they even have doodle drawings. The down to earth explanations of not only Stoicism but the practical ways to implement it is welcoming. If you were ever wondering what it is or how to explain it to others, check out their Happiness Triangle. This is in the first 25% of the book and then the rest goes into depth with further explanations and practical ways to use Stoicism for a happy flowing life while closing the gap between the ideal you and the you of today. I purchased the Kindle version and it was so good I bought two paperback copies to share with family and friends.Pick you up a copy or two, you won't be disappointed.

Helps you live a happier life.
Being the owner of 2 companies, one being one of the largest high-end limousine companies in the country. I have heard many self help speakers and read many books. I had also heard a lot about Stoicism which from day one impacted me more than anything else in the past. Now coming across this book was a pleasure and a blessing in itself. Jonas was able to concise centuries of such wonderful philosophies in one book where he makes it easy to see it through his eyes and understand the essence of what being a stoic is all about. Most importantly, how we can learn from it and apply it in our everyday life. Kudos to Jonas.

Fantastic and inspiring
I chose this book based on the strength of the reviews. There weren't many when I purchased it but the reviews were so convincing that I thought I'd give it a try.I've recently taken an interest in stoicism and was keen to learn the fundamentals of what it means to live with a stoic mindset. This book delivered everything I needed and wanted as a reader. The writer is likeable and I felt as though I was having a deep conversation with a wise old friend. The book is easy to read, interesting and to the point. I could not put it down.I think it would benefit those who suffer depression, anxiety and excessive worry. The writer is very clear in what he is trying to convey and the book is easy to digest.I have suffered anxiety most of my life but reading this book I felt as though there was an internal shift in my perspective. Each time I feel worry I recall the teachings in this book or go back to a specific section that I highlighted (which was most of the book, to be honest). It has helped me profoundly and further ignited my interest in stoicism.I have bought a lot if books from amazon, a lot of self help and non fiction books, some have been a waste of money. Not this, I wish I could have read it years ago.Amazing book which you will not regret buying.

This is the Haynes manual for Stoicism
Jonas kindly sent me a preview of his book with the proviso that any review I gave would be honest. My honest review A philosophy which began in Ancient Greece and Rome still hold great relevance today and is brought into the modern era by this book. With wisdom that belies his years Jonas Salzgeber has succeeded in distilling the essence of Stoicism into the diagram of a triangle. The centre contains the purpose of life according to Stoic philosophy and the cornerpoints the headlines of how to strive to achieve it. The first third of the book expands on this triangle covering the philosophy and its key protagonists. Being a practical philosophy the second two-thirds is effectively a manual for how to practice Stoicism. The book is interwoven with relevant quotes from the masters and is peppered with delightful pictures. I enjoyed the fact that the book was soley concerned with Stoicism and did not digress onto other philosophies nor psychological approaches.Stoicism was good enough for Emperor Marcus Aurelius and it’s good enough for me. Already I feel I am beginning to reap the benefits of this book and sense I will refer to it frequently.Bravo Jonas. I take off my non-ostentatious hat to you.My honest recommendation If you seek a way of thinking and living that will give you an internal mainstay of resilience, confidence and calm then invest in this book.

Life changing book...
very, very good. Wonderful, as it's given me a manual, that I can return to, at all time. Clear & practically formatted, so that one can be sure to be guided through the, 'HOW TO ensure being able to apply the principles of Stoicism into your life & behaviour.' Everyone in the world 🌎 should read this book, (or rather apply stoicism into your life). The author deserves my utter praise for producing a book that brings to us all of the major stoic / ancient teachings and principles together in one brilliantly written work. Be prepared, (if you're a genuine student of philosophy), to take weeks to read this book, because after each chapter, I had to meditate on it for a while, (so that the practical application can be fully absorbed into my psyche. Life changing book..

... like being marinaded in ancient wisdom
The thing I like about the philosophy of Stoicism is that it is so gentle yet so strong. This is a wonderful read. Every time I pick it up it's like my mind is being healed a little bit more. and to know that it was a way of thinking followed by some of the most powerful and wise people in history … there must me something really important here. Especially when the world seems to be so lacking in decency and so deeply contaminated by sick thinking from west to east at the moment. We all need stoic wisdom more than ever. Lovely book. Get it - read it - be it.

A gentle introduction into the ideas and concepts behind stoicism
In a world where everybody feels entitled to everything and nobody takes responsibility for anything, stoicism offers a little counterpoint of sanity to help you negotiate a path through the insane world we live in nowadays. The book offers an introduction into stoicism, explains the history and the key thinkers behind behind the philosophy in case you want to delve a little deeper in the future. It also offers a few exercises to help you behave in a more stoic manner. Recommended both as a read and as a philosophy to follow.
