Ideal.
Purchased for dual purposes, firstly for using with a window cleaning pole and it is perfect.The second reason is for decorating, I hate those trays, they slide over the floor and are just a nuisance, with this you just need a mesh that you can hang over one side and remove excess paint, then your long arm paint roller speeds up decorating and no bending over.

Big rectangular bucket
Seems sturdy enough, though I've not tried filling it all the way and carrying it with the rather thin metal wire handle (think coathanger). But no complaints for the price.

Big cheap bucket
Wanted a cheap large rectangle bucket for when I use an extendable pole when washing the car and UPVC windows. and that's exactly what this is.Just about fits in my kitchen sink which is a bonus. the handle is basic and I'm not sure I'd trust it completely when this bucket was full with water. I'd only ever half fill it at most though, so not a problem.If you're after a cheap large bucket, then look no further.
