These came very quickly and was excited to have them, as chemical extinguishers are hard to keep and use. I took one out to familiarize myself with it. First thing I noticed was that on the red bag/holder they come it says 1 meter X 1 meter. That is not the 40 " X 40" size stated. So when I took it out, the one I took out measured only 37" X 38", which isn't even the meter size it says. But OK, it is still large enough to cover a stovetop fire, so I carefully folded it back up and put in in the red bag. That was when I noticed that I was covered in fiberglass fibers that came off the blanket. Some of the fibers were 2-3 inches long, all the way down to micro-sized. Despite thoroughly vacuuming and shaking my tee shirt off outside, the micro ones could still be seen on my shirt. I'm sure they will be very irritating, and I'm afraid to wash my shirt with other clothes so they don't spread to my other clothes. My husband said to send them back, but we decided that in an emergency, we would rather have to clean up fibers than have the house burn down. STILL, this probably could have been avoided had the manufacturer don't a better job at removing loose fibers before shipping them out!

I recently opened this packing, thinking I may need it to put out a potential fire, but luckily, I didn’t have to use it. I tried to put the blanket back in the packaging by folding it nicely and pressed the fabric with my bare hands and spread my hands across the fabric. And OUCH! Both of my hands feel as if they have been pokes with multiple micro needles. I can barely use my hands now without pain. BE CAREFUL touching the fabric! I wish there was a warning label.

After watching a video of the creator and her story - having lost her children in a fire, I immediately purchased the 5 pack of these and put one in each of the bedrooms for our children, my husband and I, and one in the kitchen. We already have a fire plan, but this product gives me peace of mind that it could help protect my kiddos temporarily or myself so that I could get to them. No one wants to think about a fire happening in their house, but it is always best to be prepared. This is a fabulous product. Love that it came with hooks so that all I had to do was peel and stick and put them where I needed them.

How I never have to use this fire blanket but sure do feel safer by having them on hand, may order some more for gifts and have some spare for just in case.Fire and smoke scares me as it can happen in a flash.Recommend every house hold has them on hand- Our house burned down when I was a kid and that is always a fear, now especially that I am a senior and sometimes forgetful.

Bought for the family. Nice hook, easy to install on inner cabinet door under sink. Handy and easy to find in case of fire. Very glad we have these and hope we never need to use them.

These were as expected. They are thin enough to hang on the wall behind hanging clothes. I hope to never know how they perform!

Fortunately haven't had to use them, but they seem very durable and come in handy carrier bags for hanging. A great value. I feel better prepared with these around.

Bought five fire blankets to give as gifts after our daughter who is getting married and was cooking on the stovetop asked, “What do you do if you have a grease fire?” She has always been fearful of fire and was traumatized when a house near ours caught on fire while we were vacationing at the beach last summer. These blankets are small enough to hang in a pantry and are easy to deploy when needed in an emergency.
