Let it settle and don't react as soon as you spray it. Once it dries and settles on your carpet (pref under the seat or on mats), it does resemble a new car or leather like smell. It's strong so a little goes a long way. After a season of wet car mats and that wet towel smell in my $100k Mercedes, this did the trick. Not sure how healthy it is to be smelling this stuff but it really works! Great product.

Here’s a very honest answer incase anyone was wondering. I bought this item without reading any reviews. After reading a few after I purchased I saw many people unpleased with the smell but I still wanted to test it myself as I’m pretty good at telling whether an item is worth it or not. From my experience I can say this, I understand why people complained about the smell, I’ll be honest and say when you first spray the bottle, it does smell like complete doodoo, BUT, when the smell settles in and airs out, it really DOES smell like a new car. So yes be aware that at first it will smell completely terrible probably from how strong the scent it, but with time and after you let it breathe a bit, I promise it really does end up smelling like a new car!

I would probably mimic what others have said on this product. First, let me say that I am very meticulous with my vehicles. I always keep them extremely clean inside and out. I really don’t have a need for an air freshener. I use a leather cleaner and conditioning product and a lot of people will get in my ~4 year old vehicle and wonder how it still “smells new”. I don’t think it smells new, but what they are smelling is that conditioner. Anyway, I love the smell of a new car. If I found a product, even an air freshener product (which I otherwise don’t use) that would give me that, I’d be all over it. I will say this and get it out of the way right now… if you are in the same position as me, this product DOES NOT give your car a new car smell as it advertises. The smell is clean… somewhat reminiscent of a new plastic smell. New car smell is much more than new plastic, however. I mean, the smell isn’t bad. It’s just not new car. I like it. It’s growing on me. I just bought a new to me used vehicle. It didn’t smell bad inside, but I’ve been using this product religiously to try and get the “new car smell”. I am spraying it directly onto the carpets and floor mats as well as putting the AC on max and spraying under the dash to let it take it up into the vents. I find that you do need to refresh daily or every other day to keep the smell prominent. It doesn’t last as long as I’d expect. It also takes quite a number of sprays. I bought a 16oz bottle to try and it’s lasted me about 2 weeks. I did like it enough that I just bought the 20oz bottle and will continue to use the product and see how it does. Whether I continue it after that’s or not remains to be seen. So all in all, I like the product. The scent is good. It is not a new car scent. If that’s what you’re hoping for, you may be disappointed.

Speaking of the new car smell version (green/black spray bottle), this stuff is strong, but I wouldn't call it 'new car smell'. It does however smell *exactly* like Griot's 3-in-1 leather cleaner/treatment, if you've ever used that. Even persists on your skin after using it just like the Griot's... very hard to wash off the smell, and I did also get some lung irritation after spraying it... advise gloves and light duty respirator/mask. Just a couple of sprays will do ya.

Not all Chemical Guy products live up to their marketing hypes but this product surely does. Finally my BMW has a rich, true expensive leather scent. Much better than those little cards that hook to your rear view mirror that don't last more than a couple days.

I have a 2018 Fiat Abarth Spider. It only has 11,000 miles on it. It looks like new inside and out, but the new car smell has faded. Ugh! I like a car that smells fresh and clean. I don't want floral, musky or kitchen fragrances in my vehicle. Seriously, there is nothing like a new car smell. I always wondered why no one bottle that smell. I found Chemical Guys New Car Smell Premium Spray and thought I would give it a try. Instant fan!!! I don't know what else to say. I sprayed it and thought wow, how cool is this. I forgot about about applying it, opened my car door to go to work the next morning and was immediately surrounded by that mesmerizing new car smell. I have mats over top the original car mats and that Is what I spray. I don't spray my cloth/leather seats. I can't give testimony if the product would leave any type of stain or spray marks on fabric. I found spraying the carpets works for me and provides a great smelling vehicle. A little goes a long way. I just purchased my second bottle and it will not be my last. Kudos to a great product!

What can I say?! I thought it was impossible! The new car smell...they combination of factory produced plastics smell combined with that aroma of fresh leather...Chemical Guys have done it! They have achieved the IMPOSSIBLE!This is LITERALLY new car smell, or to be honest, new car smellS <- PLURAL ... right!? it's NOT 1 smell! It's factory plastic smell with chemical leather production smell!This kit combines the two smells perfectly! The green one smells just like plastic off a factory line....yep chemically as hell! The second smells like treated leather...yep also chemically as heck!Put them both together and....YES...your car will literally smell like it came from the factory!My advice, spray the green spray on the floors and the yellow/leather sprays on the ceiling/roof. There is no better smell!

This is just my personal preference of course. I really like the new car scent and it lasts an amazingly long time. Wasn’t a fan of the leather scent. Doesn’t smell like leather and the scent doesn’t hang around as well. You don’t know until you try the 2 scents so the dual pack was cool at that part, so now I know.
