VIKINGS BLADE The Chieftain JR Double Edge Safety Razor, Meteorite Gray (Slim & Mild)

I love this razor! I was looking for a more eco-friendly alternative for shaving my legs and armpits. While I was nervous to use this, it's really quite easy and I've never had a closer shave. I recommend this to all ladies!

This is a great razor. I haven't used one of this type razor in probably 40 years. I got on the expensive razor path as a young man and never thought of moving back to this double edge style. I guess I thought this was old fashioned.Razors have been much in the news lately as you might have noticed. I wish the big guys luck. But they'll have to continue without me as a customer.These razors are fabulous. I mistakenly chose a model that didn't come with blades - my fault. I ordered Feather blades and they arrived a few days later. This gives a great and close shave with one or 2 passes. No pulls or cuts.I can't believe I stopped using this type of razor decades ago. I guess advertising is powerful thing. Unfortunately for the hapless company much in the news today this power cuts both ways. Now I'm back to my senses and to safety razors.Regards,Tim

First off, the customer service at Vikings Razor is amazing. I wrote them asking what they recommended for a beginner using safety razors. They recommended I go with the Chieftain Jr. because it is mild and very forgiving for new DE users. They were not wrong. A great razor that provides me a great shave. They could have talked me into buying a much more expensive razor, but they were honest with me. They said start with the Jr. I appreciate their honesty and advice. I highly recommend the Chieftain Jr. for new users.

2019 decided to make some changes. gave up single use straws and other environmentally damaging practices. i was hesitant to switch from my usual disposables but definitely a difference. after google research and many youtube videos, i settled on the Chieftain JR. price and quality was a major factor and this delivers. Equal to or better/closer shave than the 4 or 6 blade cartridges i was using. never would have thought. NOTE: this is heavier than a typical razor. i let the weight of the head do the work and just concentrated on the angle of the blade. i will only get better with time. i will update again later, since this was my first shave with it. (also got variety pack of razors to test) all pros so far

I have been wet shaving for about a year now. After ditching the electric razor, like most I resorted to wet shaving with a 5-blade cartridge razor. I thought I was doing my skin a service but boy was I wrong. My skin is VERY sensitive and the cartridge razors would pull and nick my skin causing a lot of irritation and ultimately breakouts and ingrowns. Since switching over to safety razor shaving I have purchased VIKING BLADE's chieftain mini, white knight brush, forest frost aftershave, and the non lather shaving cream. I cannot say enough good things about this company. All of their products are A1 quality. My skin is as happy as it's ever been and my shave is as crisp as ever.Only regret is that I wish I bought the products sooner!

Using this product is a breeze. Before I bought this product, I didn't even know what a safety razor was, I was stuck using disposable razors throughout my life. I'm never going back. This safety razor is truly incredible, it's well built and it looks like it can pass the test of time. Highly recommend this product and when my safety razor fails me in the future, I'll be sure to buy this product again.As a first time safety razor, I have to say, the customer service for this product has been incredible. They e-mailed me a while ago asking if I had any questions. I didn't ask them questions because prior to this purchase, I was looking for tutorials online on how to shave with a safety razor, most of them were helpful. Great costumer service and I look forward on buying this product again.

This was my first DE razor and this isn’t a bad razor inherently but it’s very very mild. Not very sharp and infact on an aggressive scale of 1-10 this is probably a 1 or less. And it’s also overpriced. I expected more from this razor due to the good reviews. If you want a nice razor look it up on Reddit wicked edge or wet shaving blogs online. I even ordered a Weishi razor which was slightly cheaper than this Chieftain Jr. and the weishi is of inferior quality but still the weishi manages to provide a closer shave than this one. I also ordered a regular chieftain just for comparison and it’s not any different from Chieftain Jr in terms of aggressiveness. I will probably end up buying a standard Merkur or Edwin Jagger as everyone else has told me and praised about.

Fantastic beginner’s safety razor. I went with this one for my first safety razor because I heard it was mild, and the price was so low that I wouldn’t feel guilty if I didn’t like the shave . I couldn’t be more pleased. The butterfly action made it really easy to replace blades, and I managed to get a very close shave without nicks on my first try. After trying out several blades, I will say that because this razor is so mild you will need to use the sharper blades to get a the best shave, but you can do it without worry about tearing up your face. Astra platinum (my fave) or feather.

the butterfly works smoothly and the plating is nice. Though short but weight nicely distributed. Would like to try the long handle in future.
