More Storage, Less Weight, Longer Charge
I've never heard of Dolgix before. Of course, Amazon is always full surprises like that.My wife's trusty old 30 GIG 5.5 Gen iPOD wasn't holding a charge anymore and was in need of a new battery, so I decided to do a quick search here on Amazon for a replacement, and before I knew it, not only was I buying a new LENMAR iPOD battery but also a new face plate (her's was getting a bit scratched up) and this flash memory alternative to the iPOD's HDD, a bundle that included a ZIF adapter and 64 GB CF storage card (and two ribbon cables that were not even necessary). I figured that if I was gonna crack open her iPOD to replace the battery, then I should replace all this other stuff too, and only have to do it ONCE.The surgery was a complete success! But of course, when replacing something with something else completely different, you are gonna run into some issues. Thankfully, in this case, there were only two issues: (1) one had to do with the thickness of the new flash memory setup, and (2) the other had to do with the ribbon cables.1) The old HDD comes with some rubber side protectors that help hold it securely in place inside the iPOD and also help dampen vibrations when it is spinning. I knew right way that the new flash memory card was not gonna be able to use these rubber pieces (I tried but gave up after almost having a heart attack), and that without something to make up the difference in thickness, the flash memory might possibly be too loose, rattling around inside the iPOD. So I stuck a really thin piece of sticky foam material on the back of the adapter. This worked really well. You can use almost anything, like cereal box cardboard taped to the back of the adapter. Just be careful and don't make it TOO THICK!2) The two ribbon cables that come with the bundle are completely useless; I thought there should have been a third cable like the one sticking out of the HDD, and for a second there I thought I had bought the wrong thing. So, I started to freak out. But thankfully, cooler heads prevailed, and I realized that the iPOD's HDD ribbon cable can and must be detached from the HDD and installed onto the adapter. Trauma averted!!! They really should have a ribbon cable specific for the iPOD included, I think!!When I finished modding the iPOD and buttoned everything back up, I doubled the storage, cut its weight nearly in half, and with the new battery/flash memory combination, added several extra hours of playback over and above what was possible with the old HDD. And No More Annoying Clicking And Spinning HDD!Done and done. Highly recommended!!!One last thing. Right off the bat at first start up, an info screen will pop up telling you to plug in your iPOD into a PC with iTUNES. This must be done in order to reload the latest OS onto the Flash Card. You will have to reload all your songs, too. So, if you "borrow" your tunes from a buddy, then you might want to find a way (using ROCKBOX) to preserve your songs from the old HDD.

Bad sectors, cpu compatibility issues
I tried this with the ipod mini and the results were very disappointing as the ipod would randomly stop and freeze during playback. Bad sectors, cpu compatibility issues, quality control, I don't know. In any case, I've replaced it with a Transcend 32 which has worked flawlessly. Supplier has disagreed with my assessment and charged a 10% re-stocking fee. It's not the lousy $6, it's their attitude with respect to whether or not the card worked. Do you really think I'd send it back it it had worked?I have changed my opinion due to the call that I have just received from the supplier. He was very courteous and apologetic. Additionally, the 10% restocking fee has been waived........good people.

This was great for my ipod!!!!
I purchased this product several weeks ago to replace a failed HDD in my 80gig iPod classic. It arrived very quickly and is performing like a champ!!! The iPod is a bit faster, the battery seems to last forever between charges and after 2500 songs, 12 videos, 22 audio books it is only half full!!A quick tip - be sure to watch the direction of the zif cable when you remove your old drive. If after installation you see a red "X" on your screen, flip the card over and reinstall the cable. Then all should be perfect.I recommend this to anyone who needs to reclaim their iPod classic from a failed drive and save $20 - 30 in the cost of a new Hitachi hdd.Best of luck and thank you Sunrise nanotech! An Awesome job and I am very happy!Carl B

My old ipod Mini is still kicking with this card...
I have an iPod Mini that I have had forever, I had put in a 32GB card a few years ago... I actually could not sync everything I wanted to because it wasn't big enough...This card took care of that! I love putting these into the iPod Mini, the battery lasts forever and they sync quicker. Now that I have 60GB plus to put all the music playlists and podcasts onto my Mini, I can listen for literally 3 weeks without ever hearing a repeat.

CF Problems (but good customer service)
Initial card went bad after about 6 months, seller was gracious enough to replace it. Another 6 months later and now this card has gone bad. I use a Kingston card in the iPod and all is good, but the Dolgix card will barely sync before the iPod locks up. Restart and plug in, iTunes says that data is corrupt and the iPod must be restored. Have contacted the seller to see if they will replace the card a 2nd time.

nice upgrade to dying ipod
Pleasure ordering the product, arrived fast. Please note: when you install the zif adapter to the micro ribbon cable of the iPod, the compact flash card will be underneath the adapter. If you install where the compact flash is visible, the ribbon cable will be 'slightly bent' and when you turn on, you will most likely get "low battery" indications toggling with the apple.dot/support/ipod indication. Worked like a charm (after I inverted the card and re-installed). I've doubled my capacity and the battery lasts forever (it seems)

Upgrade to my ipod
This worked flawlessly to upgrade my Ipod Video (5g, 30gb) to an SSD! My Ipod now has twice the storage it used to, is significantly lighter, is more responsive, and has longer battery life. Pretty simple install. Highly recommended for bringing your old Ipod back to life!

doesn't fit Ipod Video
The ZIF connector on the card is not in the correct position for my Ipod Video. I can connect the card to the Ipod flat cable but then it won't fit into the ipod case because the card is offset (because of the connector position) and interferes with the side of the case. Useless to me.
