Drives pests out- the Eco Defense pest repeller features a mix of highly-effective ultrasonic frequencies, being extremely irritating to rodents and insects thus causing them to scramble to find a peaceful area, and will be forced to leave your home. The variable technology frequency waves ensure that pests do not get immune to the sounds. With these sounds not letting up all rodents and insects will be forced to leave your home quickly and without chemicals and costly treatments.

HORRIFYING-Roaches swarmed out from behind this thing!!!
We purchased this in December 2016 to try and drive away rodents and insects and followed the directions for usage to the letter. We have one installed in our attic and this one in our kitchen. To date (5/9/2017), I've caught 4 rats on sticky traps, we have a family of squirrels happily living in our attic, and roaches are attempting to take over the kitchen. Tons of other bugs are seen often and several large spiders have moved in as well.Horrifying enough, after I asked my husband to kill a tiny roach that was hiding behind this unit, the moment he unplugged it to kill the roach, about 11 roaches swarmed out from behind it! And droppings and whatnot were smeared all over the back of it! We killed a couple adults and tons of medium and small babies! I immediately had him throw this worthless junk into the trash, removed the switch plate, sprayed Bengal Gold into the wall, and then Lysol all over to sterilize the area. This is the worst waste of $20 that I've ever spent. I've never simply thrown anything out like that but I was so disgusted and angry that this product did worse than simply fail to work--it seems to have actively encouraged everything to move into our house!!

Living on Maui we have all sorts of critters; ...
Living on Maui we have all sorts of critters; ants, cockroaches, a rare small scorpion, spiders of all kinds, more spiders, big cane spiders, mice and rats [the neighbor has a small untamed rain forest jungle breeding ground]. Our house has many pukas [holes] for critters to find their way inside. That's how it is and always been... until; Two of these in the wash house, one outside the kitchen door, one in the kitchen, one near the front door, one in the living room, and one in each bedroom. Slowly the pests went away but away they went. I was skeptic but these units have definitely made a difference. Things still find their way inside but they don't stay for long. Not a problem for cat and dog fur buddies.

Simply Did Not Work at ALL
It didn't work for the mice and ants that invaded my kitchen. I don't know about other pests, because I haven't seen any others before or after I bought this product. I bought it because I found mouse droppings on my counter. I also get ants in the summer, and I had noticed them starting to march again, but mainly I wanted to deter the mice from the kitchen so they would hopefully find the traps I had set out in the laundry room. I found mouse droppings very close to this unit 3 different times before I gave up on it. The box says to keep it away from interfering objects and walls. I moved everything from the counter, but it didn't make a difference. Maybe it only works in completely empty rooms? The ants didn't notice it either. I got some of the little green live mouse "house" traps, and put them in the kitchen along the baseboards. I was mouse-free within a week. This Eco Defense Ultra-sonic pest repeller is a great idea, but unfortunately completely failed in my case.

He's baaaack :(
We've been having problems with mice within the ceilings/floors of a 2-story house, so we were very hopeful this would work especially with all the good reviews. After hearing the critter behind our daughter's bedroom wall, we placed one in her room where he appeared to be and one directly under her room on the main floor. The sounds quit, however, within a week he's back again in the same area with the units plugged in the same two outlets. I'm debating on sending them back.

Unless you have deaf mice, this gadget is the one you need
Field mice can get into a house through an opening the size of a dime. Most homeowners are going to miss at least one of those openings. Therefore, if you live in a rural area like I do, you are probably going to have some of these little uninvited pests show up sometime. Prior to buying our first set in October 2015, our three little Have-a-Heart traps were snagging as many as three (or more) of those furry little critters per day from late-Autumn through early-Spring (did I mention that these rodents tend to be prolific little reproducers?). Since we first plugged in a pair of the Eco Defense Ultrasonic Pest Repellers in our basement, we have caught a total of two mice (both of whom seemed to be wearing little earmuffs). Seriously, if we didn't think these gizmos worked we wouldn't have bought a second pair for out in our garage. A double thumbs up to the folks at Eco Defense.

Works so far
I haven't had any rodents and it is freezing outside, my garage door has light showing through and none have come in yet. I need to fix the bottom seal of my garage door but have to wait for better temps, this I guess works. If I find a mouse, I'll be updating my review. I live in a busy 6 million plus city with alleys.I've been lazy, I bought this over a year ago and I don't have pests. I haven't fixed that garage door seal. I'm getting another for the inside of my house, I have seen a handful of ants, maybe its works on them too. I have to huge furry dogs and there are no fleas. who knows, but I have not had problems with them. Seems to work great.

We bought these at first when we saw a mouse ...
We bought these at first when we saw a mouse in the house, but then shortly after started noticing brown recluses coming around. After we installed these, we saw the mouse caught in a trap not 5 feet from this device the next day. Not sure if he was trying to get away from the sound or what, but it was odd he was caught so close to this device. And then when the spiders starting coming about, we purchased more of these Eco Defenses and installed them all over the house. We didn't see them for about a month, but then we saw two brown recluses back-to-back within about 1.5 feet from this pest repeller while it was plugged in and the light was on. So. Who knows. At first, it provided some peace of mind to know I was proactive and had something installed to help keep spiders away. Now I'm not at all certain these are effective. We still see new cobwebs and we're still running into brown recluses, though perhaps we'd be seeing more if we didn't have these installed.
