Great bed, my dogs are obsessed!
My dogs are obsessed with this bed. I bought it because they got way too comfortable with getting on my bed and being total immovable logs at night. Over the summer, my dad who lives in a cute little vintage trailer on our property, started taking our older dog out the trailer at night to have company with his favorite old dog, but since I got this bed my older dog will sit at the trailer door and whine until my dad brings him back inside- and he goes straight to his bed and crashes. He, being a 12 year old pitbull, sleeps on this bed 90% of the day on this bed. I was hesitant to spend $80 on a dog bed, but I'm glad I did. It has kept my dogs off my bed, and keeps my dogs comfortable (even my kids, who will snuggle with the dogs from time to time)! I'm thinking of getting a second one for our den, to keep the dogs off the furniture in there!

... mocha and one in blue) and my Irish Setters LOVE them! They are really comfortable and well made ...
I purchased two of these (one in mocha and one in blue) and my Irish Setters LOVE them ! They are really comfortable and well made and at times the setters actually choose to lay on these beds rather then the sofas ! My dogs range from 65 pounds to 100 pounds and each of them fit well on the beds (a leg might hang off if they stretch out but two of mine sort of curl up in balls to sleep and the other two actually lay on as if they were on a sofa- all 4 legs straight up in the air and head resting on the "arm" I only got two to see if they would be a hit so now I am going back for two more so everyone has their very own "sofa bed" ! I've had LOTS of dog beds in my life and these *so far* have been the nicest I think I've owned (I did have two from Plow and Hearth years ago that were wonderful but they didn't have the sides like a sofa) and if they last a long while (which I think they will) then they will be just as reasonable in price as the ones I normally pick up at Home Goods, TJMaxx, etc....for $30 or $40 each. I I would recommend giving this comfy dog bed a try if you want to spoil your furry babies !!! I vacuumed the other day and the two beds got pushed together and my Jake decided he liked it that way ! I may even put the two new ones I just ordered together like that in my bedroom and that way two setters can sleep together !

Great Dog Bed...Finally
I bought a Large for our 40 lb Sheltie to change her mind about sleeping on our bed. She measures 30" long standing. It arrived fast and was packaged well. First day only, she ignored it at first until we encouraged her to get in it. Now she won't leave it and clearly loves the pillow feature. Our cat shares it with her. Inside dimensions measure 24"L X 18" deep. But remember, it's cushy and compresses. Immediately, she curled up in it and now its her 'go to'. She loves it. Since it is cold where we live, we did add another pad underneath as an option for a little additional thickness. I'm planning to buy another for another room. The first dog bed in years that I've been happy with.

"Large" sized bed = medium bed
This bed is advertised as LARGE but it's not even big enough for a 40lbs border collie mix....Other than that, it seems like a great dog bed (and I will update this review pending hassle of return / exchange experience).

My dogs love this bed
I put this bed on the floor immediately and my 2 small dogs just stood on it and starred at me until I took the plastic bag off it.They LOVE this bed and if my large dogs get near it they growl......it id theirs and theirs alone .Very nicely made and looks as if it will last a long time. The sides stay up for smaller dogs but I don't know how they would work for any dog who like to lay with their head on them. My ONLY question is why would the manufacturer put such a light color fabric inside ? I like to keep my dog beds looking clean and a gray or darker color would gave been so much better.Good value/well made.

Smokey votes YES!
I am writing this on behalf of our 74 lb. Rescue Staffordshire Terrier, Smokey. Wish I could say it had been easy to take out of the package. It would have been but Smokey immediately claimed it jumping, barking, and trying to take the couch out of our hands. He jumped in the bed before we could move it to the location we wanted and refused to move. Smokey will curl up on the bed and loves the arms to lay his head on. It fits him perfectly. Smokey is very possessive and will not let anyone on his bed even my grandson when he comes to play. When my son's dog comes to visit, Smokey runs to his bed staking his claim. It is a challenge to get the cover off so I can wash it every two-three weeks as Smokey will immediately try to pull the bed away or jump on it to keep me from taking the cover. On a personal note: the cover is easy to unzip, washes beautifully, and is easy to replace. The bed has held it shape even after all these months holding all that weight. We have a more expensive bed that we purchased the day we adopted Smokey. It is being totally ignored. Smokey really loves his bed - guess I should get a second one while I can find it!

Washing hassle
We had a good few weeks...but when it was time for our dog's grooming and bed washing we were extremely disappointed. Be very aware that the egg crate mattress in the base is the only removable part of this bed for washing. THE BOLSTER IS FILLED WITH STUFFING that would be extremely tedious to remove and takes a full 24 hours to dry out even with a couple hours in the dryer on the heavy duty setting. Upon reading the reviews further others have had the bolster "explode" during a second washing. VERY unhappy to have spent $70 on a three week dog bed that is not actually machine washable and I now have to replace.

but it is perfect and roomy for his tall frame
Our dog, Storm is tall and 59.8lbs. We got the large, but he can curl up into a tight ball when he chooses, so the bed may look a bit big, but it is perfect and roomy for his tall frame. We looked at a lot of beds as our "human-thinking" dog is a furniture lover. We just wanted to give him a place he could call his own and one that would be comfortable. This one has all the creature comforts. Can't go wrong with this Serta Bed. It's soft, roomy, the sides are sturdy so when he decides to lay his head propped up on one of the sides it bounces right back when he gets up. Don't get me wrong he still loves our bed and furniture - but at the very least it gives him options. :) Enjoy!
