Second review
I’m here writing my second review on this product because my feelings on it have changed since using it for a few weeks now. I was initially upset that this cream dissipates quickly. However, the product clearly states that is intentional. I have found that shaving around my beard has been very easy with this cream because it allows me to see the outline of my beard once the cream dissipates. I am satisfied with the product and will likely reorder it.

Newer to straight razor shaving
I'm still newer to straight razor shaving but this stuff was pretty self explanatory and easy to use. It did come a little messy but with the 120 degree temperature it was delivered in I'm surprised it didn't explode.Smell great and works better than most lather shaving creams. Leaves my skin with almost no irritation and is super easy to use and clean. I just give my brush a quick dip and use a bowl to get it foamy. Just wish the sight it says to go to with detailed instructions worked so that I knew how light or thick it's supposed to be, but got it down after a few uses.

Great shave cream
Lathers up nicely - provides for a very smooth and close shave. Nice scent also.

Not a huge fan
It seems over the last, I don't know ten years or so--at least that's as long as I have been aware of it--there has been this growing number of shaving creams that use a "slippery" approach to skin protection. I guess the theory is if it's slick enough your blade will guide over your skin. I have never been a big fan of the "slippery" kind. Even though they may be "slick" I feel the blade is scrapping my face, and tugging at the whiskers. And, in the end they paradoxically always leave a film on your skin you can never quite rinse off. Some guys love that kind, however they've never really worked for me. This is kind of like between a tradition shaving cream and the "slick" kind. You can get a lather going, however as you start to shave the lather starts to dissipate and leaving me anyway with that familiar scrapping and tugging. Also, the scent, its really just like, or I should say, mostly smells like soap. I didn't notice the Sandalwood or Cedar. Maybe a little, but it was really over powered by the smell of soap. I'll finish this bowl, but I'm unlikely to buy it again.

Not what I expected in so many ways.....
EDIT: I am not going to deduct a star from this product review, but after a month of use, I find that I am completely bone dry. I think this shaving cream is vastly superior to the standard tub fare, but it certainly does not last as long. So, $20 a month is a bit pricey for a month's worth of shaves in my opinion.I happened upon this product by sheer mistake.Actually, I was looking to see if one of my favorite shaving soaps was available on Amazon. Usually, I have to buy it directly from the vendor.During my search, THIS product came up. The reviews were very favorable. I thought, "Okay, let me try this one instead."The tub is the same size as my favorite soap, which I found to be very nice. There is an ample amount of product inside. When I opened the tub for the first time, I was a bit upset. There was not the usual "soap" I was accustomed to inside. Instead, it was cream -- like the Noxema type you would rub into your face. Now, I have spent my years of wet shaving using the kind of soap you dip your brush into and swirl around for about 30 seconds before adding the brush to a cup of water. This is a completely different animal. You kind of have to take your brush and dip it into the cream, just taking a little bit away. You then put the brush in a cup, add a few drops of hot water and lather it up.Again, I wasn't very happy about this process at the onset. However, after a few days of figuring out the right amount of cream to apply and the amount of water to add, I have been getting a tremendous lather.Best of all --- and this is THE BEST OF ALL -- this soap outperforms my other brand (which is Krampfert's Frostbite Shaving Soap). The reason why I love this soap is that it has a better lubing effect to it. The blade slides across the face without any effort. It's like my face was given a grease job (without the grease effect) and I can run a blade without it suddenly stopping and giving me a nick.Whether this will last as long as my other "soap" brand, I don't know. It's just a different experience for me and it seems I can get a lot of lather from a very little amount of cream. The scent? It's negligible. I get more scent from my aftershave than I do with this product. However, scent is not something that is at the top of my list.I would highly recommend that you try this product. I think it really does a better job on lubing the face than other soap dish products I have tried.

Terrible condition
So I wasn't gonna write a review on my terrible experience with this shaving cream but it popped back up in my recommendations so I figured I'd say my pieceI had never used shaving cream with a brush before and this stuff single handedly turned me away from the whole experience, the shaving cream I received was covered in dust so that should tell you how it started out lol, I opened it and the stuff inside was hard and gummy, Im not certain but I doubt that is how it is supposed to be, anyway I tried to use some of it with the brush and it took me so long to get it to lather that my wrist hurt by the end of it, it had black chunks of the hard gummy shaving cream all throughout the foam smhThe shaving cream itself actually worked pretty well, the hair cut very smoothly, but it was thin and filled with little black chunks that I couldn't get to turn to lather. Overall this shaving cream made me completely regret even trying shaving cream with a brush, I just decided to go back to Bigelow shaving cream, much easier and actually has a good product that works as intended
