Q: Is this made for 1 inch schedule 40? my underground sprinkler pipes are not sch 40. is there another one that i need?

Common schedule 40 PVC pipe has the same outside diameter (O.D.) as the thicker-walled schedule 80 pipe and thin-walled Class 125 pipe. The Snap-Fix should fit all of them. However, beware that thin-wall Class 125 pipe is fragile and prone to fracture. A PVC glue-on slip fitting will be less risky. It will also require a greater length of the existing underground piping to be exposed.

Q: Instructions on package says use cpvc glue and no primer. is that correct, or should i use purple primer & pvc cement?

I believe at least on the pipe I used purple primer do not remember what I did on the split pieces.

Q: Do they have one for 1-1/2" OD pipe?

Pipe, by definition, is specified to an inside diameter (ID). Outside diameter will vary by type of pipe and have some nominal specification associated with the type and the ID. In other words, it is not really valid to think of pipe in terms of outside diameter. Instead, use ID and type of pipe. Tubing is specified to an outside diameter (OD) with a wall thickness. Pipe is not the same as tube.

Q: How long is this repair coupler?
