"9-1 GCSE REVISION NOTES FOR STEPHEN KELMAN'S PIGEON ENGLISH " -review A*****
My daughter prepared for GCSE, she studying literature: Stephen Kelman's Pigeon English. In book " 9-1 GCSE REVISION NOTES FOR STEPHEN KELMAN'S PIGEON ENGLISH " she can find details in each chapter, on what teachers looking for. Excellent revision. Very helpful book. We are happy and recommended A *****

Not Good
This is a self published revision guide. As Pigeon English is a relatively new GCSE text, it seems to have been written to cash-in on the lack of established resources. (Come on CGP!) The book really just repeats what is going on in the plot with very little analysis of the text. When pieces of analyse are divulged - their accuracy is questionnable. Most annoying is the author's division of his book into chapters which do not exist in the original book. Secondly, there are errors not only in his writing, but also in his retelling of the story! I bought this to help my child prepare for GCSE, and as an English teacher of some 20 odd years - I decided to read it. My verdict caused me to put it in the bin before it caused any confusion! I have recently purchased Gavin Smithers revision guide on Pigeon English which is really good for text and character analysis. So I would recommend you to have a look at Gavin Smither's book for GCSE use.

Don't bother
Better than nothing given there is little available for this text. However it is really poor quality compared to usual study guides. Smacks of cashing in on a market desperate for support with new GCSEs. Wouldn't bother buying.

Very badly set out so can't find anything useful. No analysis - just a summary of the story. Complete waste of money and not helpful to GCSE students who need help.
