This thing just works, no batteries which is such a relief nowadays. It's great to have an accurate reading of the soil a foot and a half down rather than just testing the surface with my finger. Now I can make my plants happy by giving them the right amount of water, not too much or too little. The gauge is easy to read and works quickly, seems to be built well given that it needs to be shoved into the dirt many times. I bring it back inside after I'm done using it so I'm not sure if it would last as well being outside constantly.

Sometimes I just can't tell if the dirt is wet or not. Nobody else seems to have this problem. When I saw this water meter on a YouTubers product page I was in awe. How in the world does it work? I don't know how it works, but it does correspond with the time between waterings. So glad I came across this because I have lived in stress for 20 years not knowing if the dirt is wet. The dirt almost always feels dry to me except right after I water. I have drowned many a plant in my years. Embarrassing but true.

I absolutely love this thing! It takes the guess work out for me. However, related to my Peace Lily … looked limp for 2 day & normally I would water it when it looks limp or wilts.The meter read“moist ” but apparently not moist enough. So the the plant perked up after watering it today.

Works well most of the time. Inconsistant readings at times.

I inherited a gorgeous 15 year old yucca tree when we bought our house and unfortunately I have a habit of killing every plant I get my hands on. Being he’s so old and I would like to keep him alive, I wanted to be sure I knew when this guy needed water. This literally is fool proof. I just leave it in the soil and check it every couple days. Saved our new yucca from becoming a victim of me forgetting to water it.

This is about as simple as technology gets. Simply put the probe into the ground and read the gauge. Pretty much fool proof. If you're using it for larger plants/trees, buy the model with the longest possible probe to make sure you're measuring conditions near the roots.

I had purchased a similar technology for another purveyor for my pool did not work. But the water meter works great my plants look much better thanks to not over watering or under watering I would strongly suggest this meter works great.
