Not pretty but does the job
This is a very specialized tiny tap and die set. It is of crude quality, as are most tool items made in India, but it was priced accordingly. It is probably typical of the tools used in India to build so much of the crap we buy here in the United States. This is not a knock on this item, it was not misrepresented. Crude tools have their place just as much as quality tools... just depends on the job at hand. I only needed these for a few tapped holes, so the price and quality are right in line with that. Just understand, if you want long-lasting, well made tools, you'll have to pay the price, and they'll probably come from Switzerland or Germany. For my needs, these worked.(Note to Renate Sommer: This is just a guess, but I think the "double hole" dies are for the actual threading of a shaft. The second hole and the cut-line to the threaded die hole is there I believe to create a break in the circumference of the die hole to let the metal chips escape as the threading is taking place, as well as giving that orifice a cutting edge. The other "closed" die holes I believe are for chasing (cleaning up) threads already cut on a shaft, or for simply checking thread sizes of existing screws, since screws in this size range have very small increments to each other.)

This is an important tool to have if you work on watches. It is exactly as advertized and the price is great.

Good, but fragile.
I have only used this once and it was for re-tapping theads into the handle of my pocket knife. While using it I broke half of the tapping threads off because I put too much pressure on it at the wrong angle. I think I was just getting to excited because it was woking as planned and I would be able to use slightly larger screws to reattach the pocket clip to the knife handle. I still have half of the threads on the tap so I can still use it but only to a shortened depth now. But it worked for what I needed it for.

Way overcharged
This is a pretty cheap set that is really non-functional. The dies are so small that they are probably only good for a watchmaker, and not for a GOOD watchmaker, anyway. I wasted $15. Not even worth paying to send it back.

Adequete for the job
The taps seem acurate and were easy to use. It would have been nice to have a handle thrown in. The dies were not as well made, and it was difficult to get a wire started through the die. There were no instructions that came with the set, and so it was not clear why there were two sets of holes for the same diameter. Not made for daily and multiple use, but more than adequete for small projects. I bought it to thread small push-rods for remote control planes, and I feel they served that purpose well.

Got what I paid for
First off this thing is TINY. It doesn't really indicate, but it is.I guess it is what it is. I'm underwhelmed.

Handy tool for special small work
If you work with small screws, wires and other tiny sources of materials for small projects where you need threaded shafts, or holes, these tools will come in handy. They will not work on really hard wire or metal, but work great on softer metals like brass, copper, and light metals. Will work on aluminum if it is of good grade and density but be careful, aluminum can bind up the teeth and cause the tool to break if over exerted.
