Works almost too well
I bought the cold packs for my daughter because she is going through chemotherapy right now. They are so cold that she can only wear the gloves for about 10 to 15 minutes at a time. She has to take them off, warm her fingers a little, then put them back on. Her treatments are an hour long and after about one-half hour, the packs have thawed sufficiently that we get a second set out of the cooler (I bought two, just in case). I believe that one set would have been enough. They stay cold enough for an hour to do their job.

Who knew!
Anazing idea. Got for friend for chemo. Comes in several colors, has provided heavy zip lock bags in which to freeze vthe gellpacks. While I got it for someone else, I think they'd also be great for sprained to foot, wrist, etc. The hand and foot covers are thick and well made, everything stores in relatively small box when not in use

Only one flaw - not a deal breaker
Pros:- high quality- holds cold for LONG time- good fit- soft and comfortableCons:- boots: poor design for heel cold pack - needs more fabric overlap to stay in place (see photo) - consistently slides out

Works as advertised
Purchased for my Mom. She uses these often and has said she wouldn't be able to sleep if she didn't have it. Very well made, fit as it should. I would definitely recommend.

Maybe worth it if you have the money but hard to tell
They are too expensive since you need multiple pairs for 4 hours worth of carboplatin and paclitaxol plus time to cool down before and some time after. The socks and gloves are pretty big on small hands and 7.5 ladies feet, but the straps keep them on or they would just slide around. After a couple of infusions and becoming more sensitive to cold, they were too cold to wear without extreme pain even with compression socks and 2 pairs of surgical gloves on inside them so I would put my hands and feet on top of them which was as much as I could stand. Neither the compression or cold were very effective. Neuropathy set in but maybe that would be more without the cold socks and gloves. No way to know. It was less during the 6 treatments than after they were are all done. Even with compression, cold socks and gloves (doctor recommended), vitamin B's and ALA before and through out treatments (doctor recommended), the neuropathy at the end is pretty painful. One nurse did tell me I was more devoted with using them than most people she had seen. I do like the color and they are soft. I machine washed them each time in a laundry bag and hung them to dry. They came out nice. Be sure to fold over the velcro onto itself while washing or storing so it doesn't pick the fabric. Honestly, you would come out better filling a cooler full of zipper bags with ice and using towels the infusion center will give you.

Definitely cold enough for chemotherapy
I got these for taxotere chemotherapy to prevent neuropathy. I tried bags of ice first but they leaked. These gel inserts are just as cold as the ice was so I do not worry they will not be as effective. I did have to buy two sets so I can swap out the gel packs halfway through my 1.5 hours of required icing time. They stay cold enough for 45 minutes no problem. I even wear thin gloves and socks inside so they’re not too cold. I plan to donate mine when I’m done with them. Great product!
