ShearerCandles Ae Fond Kiss Large Scented Tartan Tin Candle - Ivory

I absolutely love this candle. It is made by Shearers and has such an 'authentic' smell of the highlands of Scotland. The name of the candle is 'Ae Fond Kiss' which is the name of Robbie Burn's poem in Gaelic - The Parting of two Lovers. It's fragrance is White Heather and Highland Honey and it really reminds me of a times I have spent in Glencoe and the Cairngorms. I know this my imagination working overtime, but the scent really is lovely and reminiscent of the highlands. It smells beautiful as you open the tin and creates a lovely scent around your house. It has a 40 our burn time and is burning very evenly. The candle wax is ivory and the tin it is contained in is really cute with a purple tartan trim incorporated into the design. I will reuse the tin after the candle has gone as it is such a nice tin. This would make a lovely gift but in this case it is a treat to myself. I will be exploring the range of Shearer's Candles as I am so pleased with this candle.

The first thing i noticed about this beautiful decorated candle is the decoration and the fact it is in gealic and has tartan pattern on the front, being from the highlands it is refreshing to see. First time burning it , The smell filled the room within minutes. unlike others I have used that you struggle to get any scent from. I will absolutely be buying more of these. Well done to the company who gets the scents people want filled in their homes.

Fabulous scent, excellent tin "Ae Fond Kiss" - surely one of Robert Burns most poignant love songs. Fantastic price - would certainly recommend as gift or to treat yourself. Mine (4) are for English family visiting this summer.

The smell of this candles is beautiful, one of the best I have smelt..!!Once the candle is burning you get small whiff’s of the scent every now and then, it doesn’t fill the room with the scent unfortunately.I wish it was a bit stronger smelling but I probably would buy it again because when you do get a whiff it really is beautiful.

I buy a lot of scented candles, cheap and expensive. But these are my overall favourites. I come back to Shearer candles all the time.Firstly, they look great, small tins with a nice pattern and a gold band. Take the lid off and you rest the candle on the lid, keeping your hot candle off any surfaces.Secondly, the smell is to die for. I have to favourite scents, Amber Noir and then this one. I switch between the two. I have a large living room that is open plan into my dining room. I light two candles and you can smell them almost immediately.Lastly, the longevity of these candles is great. I find they last longer than said. I've also found with lighting two candles I have never had one candle burn quicker than the other. They have all burned equally.For the scent, you will not find any better candle. Save your money and stick with these.

Lovely smelling candle but not a great burner..keeps nearly going out..wouldn't buy again

Lovely sweet but not too sweet smelling candle. I had never heard of Shearers candles-this is actually getting posted to Canada hence the reason I couldn't award the stars for longevity but they are reasonably priced and Scottish without looking tacky or tasteless. Noticed several of the candles in their range were labelled as masculine scented which is a great idea but thought that I would stick with the more feminine fragrance of Ae Fond Kiss.
