GuideCraftScrew Block, screw wood screws (3)

Screw block is smaller than I imagined, it's height is about the length of one of my hands. It smells nice, like a wood shop and all the surfaces are perfectly smooth and free of jagged edges, splinters or dust. The coloured parts are not as saturated as in the picture, looks more like a wash than like paint, the grain of the wood is visible through the colour. Contrary to what I imagined, the yellow, green and blue screws are all interchangeable, meaning that you can screw a blue or green screw into a yellow place. The heads of the screws are also all the same shape. The red screwdriver is much nicer than I expected. It is not unwieldy, difficult or extraneous. It feels very nice in the hand and it is easy to use. Of course, the screws can be screwed in with or without the screwdriver. This will be a 2014 Christmas gift for a two-year-old (27 months). If I can remember to do so, I'll come back here later to comment on how she liked and interacted with it.

When it arrived it was a lot smaller than I imagined but its the perfect size for little hands. The wood is smooth so doesn't splinter. Not only does it help develop fine motor skills, my daughter also enjoys naming the colours and counting how many of each there are. She isn't yet able to use the screwdriver but that is an aspect of the toy that will grow with her.This toy entertains her for ages and is great to take out with us to keep her occupied.
