This device works
First off the units operate with solar so don't require the hassle or expense of batteries. This is my 4th order of these critter repellers which says something about their usefulness to me.I have been plagued by rabbits eating my flowering plants and my vegetable plants for years. I have used live traps, sprays, granules and another non-solar marketed device. The first three items simply did not work. The non-solar device did work but needs an electricity source or batteries and is time consuming to use. This solar device not only keeps rabbits out of my gardens but also skunks, raccoons, woodchucks and the neighbor's roaming cat.I have such faith in this product's ability that I have planted broccoli in one of my gardens.I live in a City with restrictions on noise so I set the sensitivity to "high" and to "5" on the options. That second setting gives me the very high frequency (not audible to me) and the flashing strobe light when anything enters the range--day or night. If I didn't have neighbor's I would set it to "4" where it would do what my setting does plus a menacing sound. This has been a life saver for my gardens and the stress level I used to have when my plantings were chewed off or eaten right down to the ground. My outdoor birds don't seem adversely affected, including the hummingbirds.

Cats just laughed at these
I purchased a total of 4- 2 for my front yard and 2 for the back yard. My neighbor has cats and they always going in my She Shed or garage..I got these to keep them out..they would walk right pass them like they wasn't there...they didn't work at all on the cats.

Some cat's stay away, but doesn't work like it's supposed to
We bought this to keep the neighborhood cats away. It seems like fewer cats have been stopping by but there is one stubborn cat that doesn't seem to care. You can definitely hear the alarm go off on setting #2, which is meant for cats. It is quite obnoxious. The sensitivity control doesn't really work either. We have it turned all the way down and it will still go off from 10+ feet away.Overall this isn't a great solution for pesky cats. Overall pretty annoying.

No effect on foxes but might deter deer. Need to wait and see.
I ordered these animal repellers on a long-shot. The same product seems to be offered by other vendors are being effective at scaring away deer. This vendor, Lulu, does not make that claim. However, we have such a deer problem that I will try anything. My wife likes to grow exotic plants around our house and the deer love to eat these. We’ve tried a few half-hearted attempts at deterring them without much effect. I positioned these two repellers in the middle of some flower-beds that include hostas. We know deer love to eat our hostas which we rarely see because of this. We still have intact hostas after installing the repellers over 2 weeks ago – they would normally be gone by now. Of course, that doesn’t really mean anything yet and I’ll update this review if the deer finally do move in and clean up.Everything on these repellers seems to be working as it should - the lights flash, the alarm beeps, I assume the solar panel is charging everything up. I can't hear the ultrasonics but assume that they are working. We have a security camera at the front of the house. We now have a nice video recording of a fox coming up to one of the repellers in the middle of the night and giving it a good sniff! I guess it doesn’t work, as claimed, for foxes – but it might for deer.We live in hope.

Fine...not the best for Rodents Of Unusual Size (AKA the North American Beaver)
I have a beaver problem. In fact, a multiple beaver problem. I have to deal with the skillful damning of these beavers on a daily basis. As an alternative to ridding a nuisance beaver from my ranch's acreage, I've just been manually cleaning out the culverts they damn up on a daily or near-daily basis. I tried installing 2 of these where they commonly block 1 of the 3 culverts on my property keeping lake levels equalized, but it doesn't seem to work on beavers, or what I refer to as ROUS (rodents of unusual size...thank you Princess Bride). This is not their intended use, so I don't want to hit the rating too hard, but also figured I should post a review here in case you too are trying to beat the beaver at it's favorite aquatic activity.

The squirrels weren’t phased
Doesn’t work. The squirrels and chipmunks sat directly on top of the unit happily munching on the raided birdseeds I was trying to repel them from.
