Works while traveling across country
Once I figured out how to use these i discovered they work perfectly in making sure your bags are still with you even on multiple flights with multiple connections. I had on on our daughters car seat, since I needed to make sure we knew we would land with that to be able to get in a car at our destination. Easy to use and easy to track. Very much worth the purchase for an android user. Seems to be super durable as well since it was out in the open attached to the car seat. We had the other ones inside of our luggage and those worked perfect as well. They are super small so will fit anywhere you want to put them. Plus the open ring design allows you to put zip Tues through them to attach to items.

Hide and Seek Is Now Moot
Shazam! These things are such an improvement over the previous generation that if you have the older, just throw them away (remove the battery first). Much more powerful due to the wide bandwidth. A wonderful and fruitful way to keep a virtual eye on things easily misplaced. The ability to locate such items where these might be attached are amazing and to say nothing of the battery longevity. Don't worry if stolen (it happens). They become a lifetime partner of whatever it was initially paired to and won't even be a good paper weight for those with less than honorable intentions. The range hasn't been tested by me personally, but demo's galore are found on YouTube. Truthfully, I don't think Samsung will be able to improve on these for a very long time.

Days wasted for a twenty dollar item.
These seem to work right out of the box with my Samsung S23 phone and do what you want... tell you where they are in the Samsung app. From that standpoint, great product, great performance. However, one of units was DOA and would not work. I contacted Samsung help and spent the next week going back and forth with them. Test this, doesn't work. Test that, doesn't work. They finally admitted that the unit might be faulty and if I would send it back they would replace it. I did, they did, new unit worked fine! One might think "Oh, great service"... but... I wasted a week, probably about 5-6 hours of my time, and didn't get a replacement in time for the vacation we were going on... all for a $20 item. Can't help but wonder how many people would say to hell with it and simply throw it out and go buy a new one; that's what I should have done.

Works perfectly
Was unsure about these but they connect to any local android phone and bounces the location back to me. I am really impressed with how well they work. Thank you

These SmartTag2's really do work!
Bought the set of four (black & white) SmartTag2's for our Jan. 2025 Sun Princess cruise. I also bought four of the colored silicone covers with ring clips so as to be able to attach the tags inside our hard-side luggage ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM1YDTW9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ). When I set up the SmartTags, I included the tag cover color for each tag as part of the tag name. This way, we could easily distinguish which piece of luggage was which by the color/name. So, when on our cruise, we were easily able to track our luggage during embarkation & debarkation through the App which was pretty cool. After our cruise, we rented a car & spent a few extra days in the Florida Keys. Using the App, for fun, we were able to track our daily movements up & down the Keys through the "history" function in the App.In the end, I wasn't sure what to expect out of using these little air tags...but, they work GREAT and made a believer out of me. Gives piece of mind knowing that whatever these tags are attached to...you're going to be able to find them. Lastly, the Smart Things App was super easy to set up the tags...just set up one tag at a time and you'll be fine. Buy 'em!

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 – A Comprehensive Technical Review
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 is the latest iteration of Samsung’s Bluetooth tracker, designed to help users locate lost items with improved accuracy, extended battery life, and an upgraded build. I’ll analyze its performance, features, and overall value to see if it’s a worthy upgrade over its predecessor.Design & Build QualityThe SmartTag 2 introduces a significant design change compared to the original SmartTag and SmartTag+. It features a sleek, pill-shaped body with a large cutout, making it easier to attach to keychains, bags, and pet collars without needing an extra accessory. The IP67 dust and water resistance rating ensures durability, making it more robust for outdoor use.The build feels premium yet lightweight, and the increased size of the cutout is a welcome improvement over the original design, reducing the risk of breakage when attaching to keyrings.Tracking Performance & SmartThings IntegrationUltra-Wideband (UWB) & Bluetooth LEThe SmartTag 2 comes in a Bluetooth-only variant and a UWB-enabled version. The UWB version enhances "Precision Finding," providing an augmented reality (AR) experience to guide users toward their lost item within close range.Bluetooth now has an extended range, allowing tracking from a greater distance, which is crucial for outdoor environments.SmartThings Find & Network IntegrationSamsung leverages its SmartThings Find network, utilizing millions of Galaxy devices to anonymously detect and report the location of lost SmartTags. This crowd-sourced system functions similarly to Apple’s Find My network, improving recovery chances even when the tag is out of Bluetooth range. The Lost Mode feature now lets users input contact details, allowing anyone who finds the SmartTag to scan it and retrieve owner information—similar to Apple AirTags.Battery Life & Power EfficiencySamsung has improved the battery life dramatically. The SmartTag 2 can last up to 500 days on a single CR2032 coin cell battery in standard mode, which is double the lifespan of the original SmartTag. Enabling Power Saving Mode extends it further to around 700 days, making it one of the longest-lasting Bluetooth trackers on the market.Replacing the battery remains simple, requiring a small tool to open the back panel.Additional FeaturesSound Alerts & Volume: The built-in speaker is louder than its predecessor, helping users locate their tag more easily.Modes for Different Scenarios: The device supports different operation modes, such as Normal Mode for real-time tracking and Power Saving Mode for extended battery life.Galaxy-Exclusive Features: Unlike Apple AirTags, which are exclusive to Apple’s ecosystem, the SmartTag 2 is limited to Samsung Galaxy devices. It does not support other Android phones, restricting its potential user base.Comparison to CompetitorsPros & ConsPros✅ Improved design with a larger keyring hole✅ Extended battery life (500-700 days)✅ Loud, effective speaker for sound alerts✅ UWB for Precision Finding (UWB model)✅ Lost Mode for contact sharing✅ IP67 dust and water resistanceCons❌ Samsung-exclusive – won’t work with non-Galaxy Android devices❌ UWB model costs more than Bluetooth-only version❌ No global tracking without SmartThings Find network support in some regionsPro Tip: Save Money with the 4-PackIf you plan on using multiple SmartTags, buy the 4-pack instead of purchasing them individually. A single SmartTag 2 costs around $20, but the 4-pack is currently priced at $56, saving you about $24 compared to buying them separately. This is a great way to save money while ensuring all your important items—keys, bags, wallets, and even pet collars—are trackable!Final Verdict: Should You Buy It?The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 is a powerful and well-designed tracker, offering a significant upgrade in battery life, durability, and tracking precision compared to its predecessor. It’s an excellent choice for Samsung Galaxy users who want seamless SmartThings integration, but its lack of cross-platform support makes it less appealing for non-Samsung users. If you're within the Samsung ecosystem, this is the best tracking device available.
