Badger and fox food
Took a while for them to decide to eat it. Once it got wet they preferred it, but the cats in the neighbourhood like them

My local badgers are big fans of this food!
The media could not be loaded. This year I have been treated to regular nightly visits by badgers in my garden for the last two months, having only seen a badger on my wildlife cameras about twice a year in the previous two years. A lot of their current motivation seems to be because they really enjoy WildThings Badger & Fox food - crispy little biscuits about an inch in diameter. One badger seems particularly keen and goes to some lengths to ensure he or she gets as many as possible (see video!). Unfortunately this year foxes are pretty scarce in my area, so I don't yet know how much they would like this food, but I have also noticed that crows and magpies like it, along with several highly-motivated wood mice who can carry one biscuit at a time back home with kangaroo-like leaps! The local cats mostly ignore the food, perhaps because it is aimed more at omnivorous animals. The ingredients listed look as though they should be good for wildlife and they're free of harmful additives from what I understand. I'm now committed to buying it repeatedly as I don't want to disappoint the badgers and other animals - sadly the price has crept up a bit on my last few orders, but it is still well worth it for the enjoyment I am getting from watching nightly footage of the badgers and other animals - the latter sometimes being seen in the daytime too.

Good but expensive.
Badgers certainly are eating this. Can't tell about the foxes as they have to wait. However found alternative dry dog food in Aldi and Lidl 12kg which are eaten every night and I think was about £8.

My badgers prefer peanuts and apples
My rear garden backs onto woodland and we have badgers living in the wood. Last autumn, my husband dug out a gap at the bottom of the fence so that hedgehogs could get into the garden and we soon discovered that badgers were also using the gap to get into the garden. I started putting out a tray for them containing peanuts and chopped apples. They emptied the tray every night so they were happy with this food. However, when I discovered that I could actually buy food especially for badgers I decided to give it a go. My first impression was that it looked exactly like dry dog food and the list of ingredients confirmed this. I would suggest therefore that if you have a dog and are already buying dog food in bulk, simply use the same food for your badgers. Don't go to the expense of buying specialised badger food. I would add that my badgers clearly prefer peanuts and apples to the badger food. I though it best to introduce the badger food gradually rather than change their diet suddenly so I have been mixing some of the badger food with peanuts and apples. When I collect the tray the next morning, the peanuts and apples are gone but there is always some badger food left uneaten. I will use up the packet of food that I bought but don't intend to buy any more. As I already buy peanuts in bulk to feed that birds and the red squirrels which come into my garden, I always have peanuts available so I will continue to feed the badgers with this instead. This product might be worth buying if you don't have a dog so don't have dog food available and if you don't already buy peanuts for the birds. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.
