Works as Advertised, But . . .
We are using this light in our garage. The unit puts out a lot of light which can be directed, and it goes on when we open the garage door. The unit operates in two modes. In the basic on-off mode, you turn it on and off with a wall switch. In the motion detection mode, the wall switch is always on and the unit turns on whenever it detects motion. There are 2 problems with motion detection mode. (1) The light only stays on for about 20 seconds. (I couldn't figure out how to change the timing on this.) After that, you have to keep walking or wave your hands vigorously to get the light to turn on again. (2) If it's dark and you are wearing dark clothes, it's not always easy to get the light to turn on again. The light fixture gets warm quickly.

Lights bright, reacts quickly to motion
You have a choice, either the lights are on and off with the wall light switch or they are on and off with the motion detector. The switch for the motion detector is on the side of the light fixture itself.I placed these in the garage ceiling and leave them on with the motion detector turning them on and off. They work great when you are using them in an area where you either walk through or enter briefly and then exit. The only issue I have with the lights is that the lights when turned on with the motion detector, they turn themselves off if there isn't motion within about 20 or 25 seconds, tops of when the motion turns the lights on.If you are working on something, that means the lights come on when you move and when you aren't moving, the lights go off within the minute. I really wish there was a way to set the amount of time the lights remain on as its not practical to be working on something and having to constantly move every 20 seconds by waving your hand or other movement to turn the lights back on. It sure doesn't take much movement to turn them back on. I am thinking about placing an oscillating fan in the garage when I am working on a project to see if the fans movement back and forth would keep the lights on. A door opening or my dogs walking though the room turn the lights on. It's also nice when the overhead garage door opens the lights come on. There is usually enough movement when you are carrying stuff in from the vehicles to keep the lights on.The lights work great for either walking into or driving onto the garage as it turns the lights on. Then as you are moving about the garage, the lights stay on. Once you exit the garage, the lights turn off within 20 or 30 seconds tops.So for having lights where you briefly enter the room to get something and you then leave, the lights are ideal. But if you want the lights on all the time, you have to turn off the motion switch on the actual light and use the wall switch to control them. Since my lights are mounted on the 12 foot ceiling, its not practical to turn the motion switch on and off as a ladder is needed to reach them. The good news is the lights are bright. They turn on instantly and at full brightness . They just don't stay on unless their is movement often (if the motion switch is used).Very bright lights, and being able to aim them where you want the light is also handy. I like the lights, I don't like that the lights go off so quickly. In a full sized 3 car garage, 4 of these light units provide plenty of light. Being able to aim the lights is even better.

Awesome lighting
Initially bought one to see how much additional light it would provide in my garage and just ordered two more for the other two lights in the garage. I was 100% skeptical of these products, not really sure why, but I can tell you I'm impressed by them. I also love that there are motion sensor and can't wait to get the other two lights and have the motion sensor on all the time. My photo doesn't do the product justice, but I love how much more light it provides especially when I turn the lights on.

Doesn't Deliver As Advertised
I purchased one of these lights previously and found it to work well. I then purchased a second one and found that the light would turn off within10 to 15 seconds of no motion. The light is advertised for use in garage or shop, however 10 seconds of time makes it virtually useless for all applications. If you stop to look for something in either your garage or shop the light shuts off leaving you in the dark. Certainly, when working in the shop it's likely that you might stop moving when for example putting in a screw. I contacted the company about this issue and they said they had shortened the cut off time due to customer request. I've now replaced the the lights with LED lights from another company that allows you to set amount of time before the light turns off. Looks like I'll end up throwing these away since there is really no use for lights that turn off that fast.Just a follow-up note that one of the lights I purchased now has a burned out panel. I would stay away from these lights.

Almost There! - update. Only lasted a year!
I really wanted to love this product. It has great output; however, like most motion sensor products its, quirky. The motion sensor works, maybe too well. It is installed in the garage and picks movement up through my adjoining walls. Now the neighbors can be alerted to when we do laundry, walk by the garage door or go to the bathroom; even upstairs. It even picks up my daughter in her bedroom; also on an adjoining wall upstairs with furniture between. The light only stays lit for about 10 seconds after movement which makes this not the worst thing in the world. Oh. Wait! I'm standing in my garage looking through my work bench and now it is dark. Come on! Now I'm waving my arms around to trigger the light again.OK, so I will likely end up turning the motion sensor off. Too bad. That was the main draw for me to buy this in the first place. Oh well. It does give off a nice amount of light for a low energy cost. The directional capability is also nice however, the position of where the paddles fall is entirely at the mercy of when the light sits snug in the outlet. I'll still give it 4 stars as I like the high output. But I caution anyone planning to install in a similar scenario to maybe save a few bucks and forego the motion activated version. Good luck.Well it's been a year. A few months ago one of the panels stopped working followed by another and now as shown in picture, barely a nightlight left of the last. Very disappointed. I cannot recommend this product. Maybe it's due to cold WI temps.

Not Impressed
Bought one of these lights after reading all the reviews. Was pretty impressed initially as the radar detection worked well and ended up ordering a second one.The wiring on the second one came faulty (the top screwed up into the light fixture and broke off from the actual light itself). After a day, I noticed that the radar on the first one was very slow to come on.Did not contact seller and returned both the lights. Will continue my search for good garage lights.
