Great Little Adapter. Fast, Easy, and Reliable
Picked this up to connect my 24" iMac to my 5G wired network, and the WAVLINK adapter works exactly as expected, fast, stable, and completely plug-and-play on macOS and even iPadOS.It uses the Realtek RTL8157 chipset, which is reliable and well-supported on Apple devices. I’m consistently seeing real-world speeds between 3.8Gbps and 4.8Gbps, depending on the setup. No disconnects, no overheating, the aluminum casing helps keep it cool during sustained transfers.Just a heads-up: Your USB-C port needs to support USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) or higher. If it’s USB 2.0 or just for charging, you won’t hit full speed. If you need fast wired Ethernet for your Mac or iPad without dragging around a full dock, this adapter is a compact, high-performance solution. Great value for the speed.

Good value, good performance after driver update
This requires downloading the Realtek drivers in order to get full speed in Windows 11. Once that's done, it did reach the 5Gbps speeds. I like like adapter because it has a USB C PD power passthrough. Design isn't too bulky but it is larger the your average 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps ethernet adapter.I will say that it runs a bit warm but not too hot.I tested speeds between two points using iperf through a 10GBE connection. Pretty good for the price instead of a much more expensive 10gbe device.

Very easy to use on Wondows 10, connected at 5G link speed
This made an easy change for adding a 5G Ethernet connection to my PC. Downloading the manual was a pain - I like to keep a PDF for future reference, which could be important if I want to use jumbo frames later. I did ding this one star after I noticed that my network would freeze and my PC would become unresponsive after a few hours, even if there was no Ethernet cable attached. That has to be the driver, so I hope they update the drive at some point. It seemed to happen the most if I had Outlook opened.

Added 5Gbps Ethernet to my wireless laptop
Works as advertised after a couple of days wait for my Windows 11 laptop (LG Gram Pro with USB 4/Thunderbolt 4 through a USB C connector) to receive a Realtek network driver through the normal Windows update process. Before the driver update, 2.5Gbps Ethernet was its maximum rate. After the update, 5Gbps was achieved -- even on a physical link containing five RJ-45 connectors, 2 segments of CAT 5e (~25m and 2m lengths), and two of CAT 6A (15m, 0.15m). No heat issues at the device. Not bad.

Good Ethernet Adapter, runs cooler than most and has consistent speeds
The media could not be loaded. I tested this saturating my network for 24 hours and it kept up without any issues. It runs warm to the touch as expected, but still cooler than other 5Gbps and 2.5Gbps adapters I own from the venting and how they designed the thermal. No drivers was needed on MacOS, Windows or my iPad Pro that had the latest updates, it was compatible with all of them. For the full 5Gbps speeds your device should have a network and cable that would support it and a device that has USB-C 3.2 but it will still connect at 2.5Gbps with older USB-C 3.0 devices. I have tried other 5Gbps adapters that became unstable and could not get this one to failConnectivity is fast over an 8 meter cable to the gateway and it’s built well.

Good spped; usb-c power pass through awesome
Works great, I love that it passes through usb-c power to my minipc and I save a usb-c connection on it. I get great wires speeds now!

No 5gb… not even 50mbps.
I bought this because I have 5gb download and upload speed Fiber Internet. My Ethernet port to my Omen 6 Gaming laptop is capped at 1000 up/down. So I figured this may increase that cap to the advertised 5gb.I’ve attached 3 photos for the internet speed tests.#1 - laptop’s WiFi: 344mbps download / 86mbps upload.#2 - laptop’s internal Ethernet port: 689mbps download / 937mbps upload.#3 - Wavlink USB-C 5GB Ethernet Adapter: 27mbps download / 978mbps upload.
