Just got this today and it streamed video from my screen to the HDMI input on my monitor right away. But it wouldn't charge my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 at all; whether while streaming video or not. Even when using the original Samsung wall charger. So I looked on the package and it says USB debugging may need to be turned on. After doing that, it now charges!! Granted, it isn't at the full rate, but a reduced rate as indicated by the red X in the battery icon. Hopefully it will be enough to at least maintain the battery while watching.In order to turn on USB debugging, you'll need to turn on Developer Settings, if you haven't done so already. To do that, go to Settings, General, About Device. Then tap "Kernel Version" about 5 times, which will then enable Developer Mode. Then go to Settings, General, Developer Options and turn on USB Debugging. That should do it.NOTE: The above is for use with Android version 5.02. If you have an older version, I don't think there is a "General" tab, but once you get to Kernel Version follow the steps and it should work.

I used this on my Galaxy Tab S 10.5. I was looking for something to be able to display my MKV files from my tablet without needing to stream wireless with laggy or spotty connectivity issues. Of all the ways I have to stream videos, this is my favorite. It worked great on both my 40" and 50" LED TV's. On the 40" I did notice there was a bit of a boarder around the TV screen, but this is a TV viewing area issue that I've noticed with my PS4 as well. The cable works very straight forward, plug in the HDMI, then the USB, and finally the cable to your tablet/phone. I ran youtube, mxplayer, chrome, and netflix just fine. The quality is great. As I mentioned earlier, there was a black boarder on one of my TVs, but that issue was only on that one TV. As far as I can tell, there's no way around that. Which is fine. After a while you don't notice it. Just wanted to make sure it was known that this was of no fault of the cable. Definitely recommended.

This cable works fine as far as the video. However there isn't any sound. Hard to watch a movie off your phone if there's no sound. Might as well be just be the yellow composite cable of yesteryear. I figured with HDMI I'd get both picture AND sound! Luckily I have a mini plug input on my Kenwood deck and can come out of my phones ear phone jack to get the sound through my car stereo. Otherwise I would have likely returned this product. The other upsetting thing is that I purposely bought THIS cable because I loved the idea of having the added feature of the attached USB cable to charge my phone during movie playback so I can watch the whole movie without my phone dying on me. Well guess what! It doesn't work! I plugged it into my tv's USB slot. Nothing. So I tried my DC (cigarette lighter) with a USB adapter. Nothing again! I tried a DC to AC 800 watt inverter using a regular wall USB plug. Still nothing! So the 3 star rating is being very kind here.

Product is good quality and works great. Do have two comments... The first - I initially had some trouble getting the connector that plugs into the phone to plug in properly. I discovered that there are little "dogs" on the underside of the connector plug that were protruding quite far. Those dogs were sticking out so far that they were preventing the connector from engaging the connector in the phone. I remedied that situation by pushing both of the dogs into the connector some such that they would not stop the connectors from engaging. Once I did that I was able to fully insert the connector into the phone and all was well. The second - I wish the pigtail that goes to the phone charger was longer. Since this pigtail has a USB connector it is intended to plug into the charger. So that means that it has to reach to where the charger is plugged in - most likely a wall outlet or outlet strip.

I bought this cable because the screen on my Galaxy S3 broke. I don't want to spend the money to replace it, and I am getting a new phone. So I just decided to get this cable to get some info off of it. It says in the title that its for the galaxy S3, but it did not work with mine. Although it does say that you might need to have USB debugging enabled in the settings, but I'm pretty sure that I already had it enabled before the screen broke. It did however work very well for my brother's galaxy S5, we just plugged it into our TV, his phone and a USB port that happened to be on the TV (the USB port is for power only, you don't need to have it plugged into a TV), and it was working perfectly.I have decided to order a different cable, just to see if it would work. This cable is MHL 1.0 (the one you're reading a review on), but the new one is MHL 2.0 I will post an update on here once I get it, to let you know if it works with the galaxy S3.Also MHL stands of Mobile High Definition Link if you were wondering.

Love the cable adapter! Work flawlessly. I initially bought the other brand for a buck and forty cents cheaper but end up has to returned it as it didn't work and after attempted to get it resolve via several emails back and forth to no avail. The adapter probably cost the same for both vendors but the biggest difference is this vendor sent a follow up email to me and ask for feedback and offer upfront for a replacement unit to be dispatched should my unit is defective by just replying to their email. Luckily it worked and I am very pleased with the purchase. I dont normally write review if the product is working because i am lazy but I feel like I owe them a positive feedback for the great purchase experience. One advice for those who uses morphine case (I have samsung S4), you will need to take your cell phone out of the case so that the micro USB cable can insert all the way to your cell to work.

Fonctionne correctement avec mon galaxy note edge. Bien vérifier la compatibilité de votre téléviseur avec le MHL sinon vous penserez que le produit ne fonctionne pas.
