Absolutely brilliant
Having seen a number of videos by Brian MacKenzie before, I know this would be straight to the point an combine my love for CrossFit and enjoyment of marathon running. I have been doing CrossFit for a number of years, but still believe this book is relevant for any endurance athletes willing to improve their training. The book is unbelievably detailed but easy to understand thanks to the well-presented photos and text. It's broken down into five main sections: Running, Cycling, Swimming, Strength & Conditioning, and Mobility. There's also a small section on nutrition. If you can get to a CrossFit gym, that will be a huge help to you in following the programme, but it's not mandatory. Having access to any sort of gym and free weights, plus some simple space to do push ups and burpees is all you need. A great read, and will make you question your own training regimen.

Fantastic training aid!
As an active, if amateur triathlete, I read a lot of books and articles on training techniques. This book is unique in the completeness of the concepts and the step-by-step instructions and photos showing how to put them into practice. I am adopting more focused strength training and stretching into my workouts and seeing results. My ONLY slightly critical comment is on the nutrition section which is pretty brief and needs more depth. Fantastic book if you are active or interested in skills and strength training for endurance athletes.

Very persuasive
This is a very persuasive argument for why the Long Slow Distance/Duration training methodology may not be the best solution for you as an individual. Brian speaks from experience of the LSD methodologies and what it did to him as an athlete, and the differences he has seen since changing to the Cross Fit Endurance methodology. Well worth reading

covers hardly the basics
unfortunately very disappointed with this book. all the information is available for free on the internet. i was expecting a more scientific approach to exercising but it covers very very basic knowledge.
