Not quite at all for the price a load rattling sound can hear it in another room over 40ft away.

A great all around pump with endless applications. This pump has been around for a long time and there is a reason it is considered among the best by countless hobbyist and professionals. Great longevity, simple to clean and maintain, a fantastic warranty, and it just works. I highly recommend Sicce pumps.

Purchased two Syncra Silent pumps. One 4.0 and one 5.0 as sump return pumps for a 210 gal aquarium. Both are good pumps and well built. Unfortunately, they are not as quiet as I was hoping they would be. They are being used for sump return pumps for a 210g African Cichlid show tank

This pump so far (3 months in) chugging along nicely

I bought this pump because they have a reputation for being reliable. If that turns out to be the case I'll be satisfied. Keep in mind this is an AC pump. This pump hums like crazy. I can hear it in the next room. I put a rubber mat under it, and then a foam mat under that. It still hums. It's not a low hum. It's there and you can hear it! I have a dedicated room for my tanks so its not a major issue. I wouldn't want this near my music, or tv.

We bought this for our aquarium sump system. The plastic feels flimsier than expected but so far it’s doing a great job and it’s noise isn’t very noticeable. Pretty pleased so far.
