highly informative, well researched, analysis of the israel/palestine conflict
This work presents an enlightening combination of two of the most principled, informed, and perceptive voices on the Israel/Palestine conlict: Israeli historian Ilan Pappe and US linguist, dissident, and socal critic Noam Chomsky.Gaza in Crisis contains a series of relatively short but dense and informative essays and interviews by one or both authors. I find their insights to be highly complementary, as Chomsky generally speaks of the conflict after 1967, while Pappe has conducted extensive research into the events leading up to the 1948 war, relying on the declassified Israeli military archives as well as Palestinian witness accounts. This book is informative both to people relatively unfamiliar with the conflict and those with more knowledge. While sketching out a broad outline of major events between 1948 and the december 2008 Israel attack on Gaza, there are a few more focused essays presenting material I had no yet encountered in the author's other work. In particular, Pappe has an essay investigating 5 major trends in US politics and society that he identifies as most influential on US Israeli policy, which I found highly thought provoking. In general the authors document the profound government of Israel's profound disregard for human rights and its constant pursuit of expansion over security. The brutal conditions and murderous military attacks to which thousands of innocent people in the occupied territories have been subjected to for decades is discussed at length.Other essays deal with Nakba denialism, analysis of the one/binational and two state solutions, and the evolution of Israeli policy and brutality in Gaza.I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to better understand this complex issue.

The truth about the Zionist occupation of Gaza!
Finally, a well documented account of the methodical dismemberment of the Palestinian homeland and culture by the Zionist occupiers. OUTRAGE! This is the feeling this book left me with. Israel, and America, as its' imperial benefactor, must be held accountable for the atrocities of genocide and ethnic cleansing perpetrated against the indigenous population of Palestine over the past century. HISTORICAL TRUTH AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. This must be the basis for of a peaceful solution --- a two state solution. As is stated by Israeli historians, Israel herself is sowing the seeds of its own destruction with each new settlement in the Occupied Territories. As always, anything that Noam Chomsky has put his pen to is amazing, analytical and accurate writing.

The book is informative and heart-breaking. I was always ...
The book is informative and heart-breaking. I was always siding with Israel until I read this book. I wish the whole world knew about the atrocities committed on the Palestinian people by Israel with the help of the U.S. I wish something could be done to take away some of the power of AIPAC. I wish the U.N. would act to stop the expansion of the settlements. I don't understand why Israel has been free to violate international laws for so many decades. No wonder that the result is the hatred demonstrated by the Islamists who are looking for revenge no matter how brutal and savage it is achieved.

Genocide
It is horrible what Israel gets away with. Thousands of innocent children blown to bits. The Palestinians are locked up in a prison under surveillance day and night by US helicopters, fighter jets and bombers maned by Israelis. Door gunners kill unsuspected Palestinians at random. In order to get food, medical supplies, building material, etc. the Palestinians have to build tunnels into the Sinai desert which are bombed persistently by the Israeli The Palestinian fishermen are fired at and their boats sunk if the venture too far from shore. It is a clear case of ethnic cleansing compared to our massacre of the Indians during the 1800's. Netayahu and his cronies are war criminals and must be tried by the World Court in the Haigh. Every American must read this book. The truth must be known.
