Stops the use of single-use coffee filters which also have bleach in them that is unhealthy for the environment. I use my coffee filters everyday in my electric drip pot. Wash them and rinse them and dry them. Ready to use again. Have lasted me 3-4 years so far and still going strong. Design is nice. Adequate for a four cup coffee maker.

Works great, the bottom is solid plastic making it a bit difficult to rinse out. But the structure is solid because of it. An inconvenience I’m willing to overcome.
