Miracle in a bottle
After 2 years of using a saline solution to clean a daith piercing which just wasnt healing. I bought surgical spirits which I always used in SA, & within 1 week my piercing was perfect. I used this as well on my new born's navel which wouldn't heal. That was 32 years ago, so surgical spirits been around for a long time. Really excellent product.

The alcohol base you need for foundation/eyeshadow repairs, should be as pure as possible. That means that you're looking for a rubbing alcohol or surgical spirit which does not have extra medicinal additives such as the castor oil and methyl salicylate which is in most rubbing alcohols and is also in this brand of surgical spirit. Those ingredients won't evaporate off like the alcohol will, and will change the properties of your makeup.\n\n After I mistakenly made this purchase (at a time when the ingredients weren't in the listing), I gave up on medicinal alcohol and bought a small bottle of vodka instead - it worked great, and evaporated off just fine, leaving my eyeshadow in good condition.\n\n(If you're not going to put the foundation anywhere near your eyes and you aren't sensitive to aspirin and salicylates in general, then you might be more willing than me to take the risk...The methyl salicylate will after all, act to minimise spots, and it might give you a nice warm glowy feeling - it's the active muscle-warming ingredient of the rubbing alcohol, intended for therapeutic massage purposes. But. The face has more delicate skin than the places you usually use deep heat rubs, and if you have sensitive skin of any sort?
