Fast, well made and fun lights
I've got quite a bit of experience with RC cars, so was pleased to be offered the opportunity to review this 1:16 RC drift car. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint. The car itself looks professional. Despite being a smaller 1:16 size (I normally race 1:10 scale cars) the whole car is built extremely well and to a good standard. The chassis itself is sturdy, with a strong plastic base. This is reinforced by aluminium support parts, which are a metallic purple colour. Components are also good, with a brushed motor, ESC / receiver and proper servo for steering. All of these work perfectly, with responsive and accurate controls. You get 2 x 1500mAh batteries, which are ideal for this setup. Even the transmitter looks and feels professional, with adjustable settings and a good, sturdy grip to it and responsive steering wheel. The polycarbonate / plastic shell clips on like any other professional RC car, with clips. There's a mastic wrap on it, which can be pulled off or left on for a bit of rash protection. The lights are controlled by a ch3 switch on the transmitter, with various modes and flashing on steering. The car itself has 3 speeds via the transmitter, with a fast little motor fitted it's fast on the high settings, although remember that this will likely drain the battery quicker. The batteries have a usb charger, however due to having a balance cable and deans type connector, you can charge them quickly via a standard RC LiPo charger. The standard hard rubber tyres still allow a little drifting, but the additional plastic ones will make it easier.Overall, a great little RC car, perfect for drift racing, just tearing about a carpark or warehouse racing. I'm looking forward to racing this around with my friends' cars.

This car is FAST!
Compared to any other remote control car I have played with with my son this this drift car is rapid! I'm not sure if we got it up to 35MPH but we got it fast enough to struggle to keep it in a straight line down a path in the park. We also had a little play on the skateboard ramps and had great fun doing four wheel drifting and doughnuts along with jumps over the ramps. It really is so much more fun than anything we have tried before and we were also very impressed by the battery life. We were messing around for about half an hour and the one battery was still going when drizzle stopped play. The car comes with two batteries and a USB charger and we liked the controller which has a speed setting which really helped with our son driving as it was just too quick on full whack for him to control. There is also a trim button for the steering and the different LED settings for the headlights. We really liked the indicator headlights which flash which way you are steering which was handy for our little one to help him work out which way he was going when the car was coming towards us. There are some metal reinforced parts on the undercarriage of the car and the suspension worked well along with a very comprehensive parts list so you can replace any broken parts without writing off the car, along with assembly drawings to show you how to replace the parts.Along with the car, controller and 2 batteries you also get a spare pair of slick wheels to drift with although we had no issues drifting on concrete with the tyres that were already on the car. It is great fun and a complete package that can get you up and running without any tinkering or knowing what you are doing (like us!) but there were a few giggling dads at the skate park who loved watching it drift around and fly off the jumps. It also survived some pretty serious bumps and bashes which is good! Seriously good fun!
