Crabs came alive and well. Everything came as directed and the instructions are easy to follow. Great classroom pets!

We got the crabs today. I opened the first crab excited to see it was alive and put it in the 10 gallon tank because this travel bin it comes in isn't big enough for them and not the right habitat. I opened the second one and it was dead. I put it in the water just like it says to do and nothing. It was dead and I had a 2 yearold with me and I had to explain the meaning of death. To her she was deviated. I do recremed getting them tho because they are cute and a good learning experience.

The starter kit had everything needed to START a "crab-i-tat". If you intend to keep crabs, you will need to buy other stuff and a tank when possible, this is meant to be temporary. Reading past reviews, I was worried my crabs would show up dead or sick or die soon, so I ordered this and also extra crabs from the same buyer. ALL EIGHT CRABS ARRIVED ALIVE. Not sure if they are all still alive because they burrowed under deep sand my Husband had in the huge tank he bought, however one crab has come up and doing very well. Overnight tracks/holes indicate very active, multiple crab movement(we plan to get a night camera). It is NORMAL for crabs to burrow for up to 3weeks, so I'm sure others will pop up soon! Keep in mind that you are buying live pets ONLINE and they are being SHIPPED IN THE MAIL to you. And also that this is a temporary STARTER kit. Like I mentioned above, all EIGHT crabs ordered arrived alive and very active! If any died, it will/would be due to personal negligence/inexperience after arrival. The owner also included extra shells with each crab and one crab had a gorgeous pearl color shell! Very pleased, my Husband loved his gift!!!

Both crabs showed up alive! I want to say that first and foremost. We used this habitat temporarily until we could get a larger glass aquarium. Even after moving from this small one to the larger one we still use the shells and all of the accessories that came with this habitat. I highly recommend this for beginners of hermit crabs but make sure you know this is a temporary set up and you will need a larger aquarium!

My husband and I simply love our little hermit crab addition!! Both crabs are extremely healthy active little critters! There are pretty large and I ordered a larger cage for them to move around better! My advise for anyone thinking of getting them is to do your research, as they need some TLC! For instance bathing and larger shells to access! Otherwise they are truly wonderful to observe! :)

The enclosure is good worth the money.But every hermit crab that was sent died.I was sent about 6 crabs and all died on arrival.I am no longer requesting anymore.The shipping is too long despite weather conditions in my experience.
